Overview
NOAA’s SPC and NWS confirm no new tornadoes in the past 24 hours. Day 1 and Day 2 Outlooks indicate very low tornado potential, with only a Marginal Risk over southern Arizona.

On This Day in Tornado History – August 26
- 1928 – Omaha metro & southwest Iowa: At least four tornadoes struck; in Bellevue (near Fort Crook), a family was severely injured, and another tornado was fatal near Elliott, IA.
- 1976 – Kiana, Alaska: A weak tornado briefly touched down north of the Arctic Circle.
- 2007 – Northwood, North Dakota / NW Minnesota: A devastating EF‑4 wedge tornado destroyed much of Northwood (90% of homes damaged, one death), and produced additional EF‑3 and weaker tornadoes.
