Our Frequently Asked Questions

Are your shelters listed on GSA or other procurement contracts?

We work closely with procurement officers to facilitate streamlined purchasing. Our shelters meet all federal requirements for life-safety infrastructure, and we provide comprehensive documentation for the bidding and RFP process.

Yes. All our government tornado shelters are designed and tested to meet FEMA 361 and ICC 500-2020 standards, which are the primary technical requirements for federal grant funding eligibility.

While their primary function is life safety, our larger municipal units can be configured to serve as storage facilities, park restrooms, or community rooms, maximizing the utility of the public investment.

Our units are designed for “zero-to-low” maintenance. We recommend annual inspections of seals and locking mechanisms, but the heavy-duty steel structure is built to last for decades without significant upkeep.

We pride ourselves on industry-leading lead times. Because our units are prefabricated and modular, they can be installed and anchored in a fraction of the time required for traditional poured-in-place concrete structures.
