The TornadoLock™ CS1010 Is a Wide-Body 250 MPH Steel Safe Room for 19 to 33 People.

When seconds count, a wider footprint helps everyone get in fast. The TornadoLock™ CS1010 is a 10′ × 10′ solid-steel safe room, its extra width giving 100 square feet of protection for 19 people at FEMA occupancy and up to 33 at maximum. A single ICC 500 certified door keeps it compact yet code-compliant for offices, crews, and utility control sites. Independently tested to FEMA P-361 and ICC 500 and rated for EF-5 winds up to 250 MPH.

The CS1010: a 10 x 10 permanent shelter for 33.

100 sq ft of welded steel protection, engineered to FEMA P-361 and ICC-500 criteria for EF-5 events at 250 MPH. The compact square footprint is built for sites where even a 20-foot unit won't fit u2014 a tight yard, a single room addition, or a corner allocation where floor space is already spoken for.

02 — Entry

Storm-rated entry, sized to the occupant load.

Entry is ICC-500 code-compliant and debris-impact rated, with three 1-inch stainless sliding locks operated entirely from inside. The shelter cannot be locked from the outside, and it is rated to remain operable after impact so nobody is sealed in waiting on rescue.

100 sq ft u2014 20 by FEMA design, 33 at capacity.

Occupancy runs off the FEMA and ICC-500 formula: 5 sq ft per person for design, 3 sq ft per person at maximum. Bench seating is integrated into the shell rather than added after, high-grit flooring handles wet boots, and ADA full-size access is standard per ICC-500.

04 — Power

Off-grid solar lighting, no hookup required.

Roof-mounted solar and a backup battery keep the interior lit through a grid outage, so the CS1010 works whether or not the building beside it still has power. Steel-plate-shielded vents meet ICC-500 net-free-area for natural ventilation while resisting debris and wind-driven rain.

One continuous welded shell, not an assembly of panels.

1/4-inch structural steel plate in ASTM A36 and A572, solid-welded across wall, roof, and floor, with an interior truss system engineered for extreme load at 250 MPH. This is not a converted shipping container or a light-gauge storm box u2014 the engineering is independently third-party reviewed against published standards.

06 — Deploy

Permanent placement, engineer-certified anchorage.

Set on a poured foundation and secured with Industrial Grade Concrete Wedge Anchors placed at the midpoint between trusses, with the anchorage design specific to your site and certified by an engineer per ACI 318-19 Chapter 17. The smallest unit in the CS line, sized for a single high-density workspace rather than a full crew.

Ventilation

US Tornado Shelter units are engineered to ICC-500 and FEMA P-361 air circulation and ventilation requirements for each shelter's occupant load. Vents are steel-plate shielded to resist debris and wind-driven rain while maintaining required net free area.

Concrete Foundation

The CS1010 is a permanent installation set on a poured concrete foundation. The foundation and its anchorage are designed for your specific site and certified by an engineer per ACI 318-19 Chapter 17.

Solar Panels

These panels charge the emergency battery backups for our interior solar lighting, so the shelter stays lit whether or not the building beside it still has power.

High-Grip Surface

The same high-grit surface is used on the interior floor as on the exterior foundation edge. This helps occupants keep traction when entering and repositioning inside the unit if shoes or surface become wet.

Anchors Centered Between Trusses

Industrial Grade Concrete Wedge Anchors are placed at the midpoint between structural trusses, distributing uplift load evenly across the floor plate rather than concentrating it at a single connection point.

Anchored Into the Concrete Foundation

Each Industrial Grade Concrete Wedge Anchor is driven through the steel floor plate directly into the poured concrete foundation below, tying the shelter body to the ground as one engineered assembly.
